Why More Patients Are Choosing Robotic Knee Replacement in India

India is emerging as a leading destination for robotic knee replacement, attracting both domestic and international patients. The country offers access to advanced robotic surgical systems, internationally trained orthopedic surgeons, and state-of-the-art hospitals at a significantly lower cost compared to the US or UK.

Robotic-assisted surgery provides benefits such as precise implant alignment, minimal tissue damage, reduced pain, and faster recovery, making it an attractive option for patients seeking reliable outcomes.

Additionally, India’s healthcare infrastructure ensures shorter waiting periods and personalized care, supporting patients throughout pre-operative and rehabilitation phases. Medical tourism in India is further boosted by affordable treatment packages, English-speaking medical staff, and globally accredited facilities. These factors combine to make India a preferred choice for patients who want high-quality robotic knee replacement with excellent success rates. As awareness grows, more patients worldwide are turning to India for advanced orthopedic care.

Consult Dr. Biren Nadkarni for robotic knee replacement at Joint & Bone Solutions.

What kind of Anesthesia is used for Partial Hip Replacement?

The selection of anesthesia is a major decision that could have a major impact on your recovery. Generally, there are two main types of anesthesia options: General anesthesia and Regional anesthesia.

General anesthesia involves putting the patient into a deep sleep, ensuring they feel no pain and have no awareness of the surgery.

On the other hand, Regional anesthesia targets a specific area of the body, such as the lower half, by numbing it. The most common form is a spinal or epidural block, where anesthetic is injected near the spinal cord. Patients may remain awake but comfortable, often accompanied by sedation to help them relax. This is more commonly used than general anesthesia for Partial Hip Replacement (Hemiarthroplasty).

The choice between these options depends on several factors, including the patient’s medical history, the surgeon's recommendation, and the patient's personal preference. At Joint & Bone Solutions, we prioritize patient safety and comfort, discussing all options thoroughly to ensure the best possible outcome.

How is Partial Hip Replacement performed?

A Partial Hip Replacement is a surgical procedure to replace the damaged ball part of your hip joint. Here's a basic overview of the process:

  1. A surgeon makes an incision on the side of your hip to access the joint.
  2. The muscles and tissues are carefully moved aside to expose the hip joint.
  3. The damaged head of the femur (the ball part) is removed.
  4. The bone is shaped to fit the new prosthetic implant.
  5. The prosthetic ball, often made of metal or ceramic, is inserted into the prepared bone. It can be secured with cement or by allowing the bone to grow into it.
  6. The muscles and tissues are repositioned, and the incision is closed.
